Explore Singapore

Singapore is a diverse city filled with many unique scenery, as a result it has become a favoured destination for many travellers. Singapore has many prosperous attractions that range depending on what your interests are. In this post, I will be talking about two different destinations that you should visit whilst over.

My first suggestion is Singapore’s Botanic Gardens, which was ranked Asia’s top attraction in 2013. Located at the fringe of Singapore's Orchard Road shopping district, it is easy to jump on the MRT from any part of Singapore. The Gardens are filled with vibrant tropical colours that you can't help but admire. Make sure that you keep an eye out for any wildlife that roams through the gardens, as I managed to spot a Varanus salvator relaxing at the side of the lake. There are many parts of the Botanic Gardens to go explore, including one of my favourites The National Orchid Garden, which has the world’s largest orchid display. This is a treasure to anyone who loves visiting these sorts of attractions.

If you are heading out for the evening and are looking for a different experience, go to the Long Bar located at the famous Raffles Hotel. Here is where you can try the world renown cocktail the Singapore Sling; you tend to find that many tourists from all over the world come to the Long Bar to try it. What is unique about this bar is it's signature…peanuts. On each table you are presented with a bag of peanuts, the tradition of the Long Bar states that you throw your peanut shells on the floor so you don’t be prudish. So, if you are looking for somewhere fantastic to get a drink I would suggest to go visit the Long Bar.
