Scotland's Highland adventure
In this piece, I will stepping a little closure to home and
talking about where you can go in Scotland. A small fact about Scotland is
that our national animal is a Unicorn; despite an odd choice, it is back up by
reason for the country’s love and long history of myths and legends. It has
been Scotland’s heraldic symbol since the 12th century.
Scotland is a wonderful (yet very wet) land filled will
miles of stunning mountain wilderness filled with glacial glens and
lochs to go explore. These lands tell a story of the history of our past.
If you are visiting Scotland on holiday and are interested in travelling around the highlands, I would suggest using the tourist company Rabbie’s (named after Scotland’s famous Robert Burns) to show you our tranquil lands. They do an amazing job of telling you a lot about Scotland’s history and keeping you entertained whilst on the move, this is usually through playing many Scottish songs.
You will stop at many locations, starting off at Rannoch Moor were you can admire the untouched lands. Then moving on to explore
Glencoe where you can observe the Great Glen; with its sheer beauty comes with its
tragic tale that has become a very important part of Scotland’s history. Stopping
off at Fort Augustus, a very popular tourist destination for many, it is the
perfect spot to grab a bite to eat whilst watching the boats sail through the Caledonian
Canal. Then making our way up to the Loch Ness, where you have a chance to go
on a boat cruise in search for Nessie. On the way back, you can watch the mesmerising
Grampian Mountains fly by before returning to Glasgow.
For this tour of Loch Ness, Glencoe & the Highlands, it
will cost between £41-£55 depending on whether you are an adult, student or
senior. If you are interested in other tours, Rabbie’s offer a range of tours around
the UK. I have added a link to their website below for you to check out.
