The wonder's of Kazakhstan

Over the summer I travelled to Kazakhstan; despite the long journey, it became one of my favourite places that I have visited. Kazakhstan is filled with friendly people who will make you feel welcomed; and it's tranquil scenery is something to be admired. There is also vast amounts of delicious foods to try; because of Kazakhstan’s history, the influence of food ranges from traditional Kazakh cuisine to Russian and Korean etc. In this post, I will be telling you about one of the many places that I visited that is perfect for tourists; whether you are travelling alone or with family or friends.

If you ever find yourself in Almaty, I would defiantly suggest taking the time to take the cable car up Kok Tobe, a mountain that stands at the highest point of Almaty at 1100 meters. The cable car which only costs 2000 Tenge, roughly equivalent to £4.38 for a return. I remember visiting Kok Tobe and was structed by the beautiful views of the tranquil mountains that surrounded us and the panoramic views of the whole city.

In 2006 Kok Tobe became a recreational entertainment centre, growing into one of Almaty’s largest tourist attraction, there is a whole load of entertainment at your hands. I ended up choosing the sensible option and dragged my boyfriend to go on the ‘Fast Coaster’, which involves going down the mountain in a sled on rails at a speed of 45 km/h. It was the most accelerating experience I have ever undergone (I have posted a video that I have found below to watch).

With Numerous game stands, climbing walls, children’s playgrounds, petting zoo, concert hall, art gallery, cafes and restaurants, you will never be bored. There is even a bronze statue of The Beatles, made by the sculptor Eduard Kazaryan and placed in Kok Tobe back in 2007.

In future posts, I will come back to talk about other aspects of my trip to Kazakhstan.
